"Six Baltimore police officers were indicted Thursday in connection with the April death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old who suffered a fatal spine injury while in police custody, touching off a wave of protests and riots across parts of the city.
The expected grand jury action leaves the most significant charges in the case unchanged, and moves the case from the lower District Court and into Circuit Court.
The officers, each of whom faces multiple counts, now also face a charge of reckless endangerment, Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said at a press conference Thursday. Charges of false imprisonment against three of the officers are no longer part of the case."
